The Two Most Important Items You Should Have in Your Make Up Bag

Rouge & Gloss

Rouge also called blush, is typically used by women to redden their cheeks to provide a natural glow for a more youthful appearance.

Did you know
that in the early 1920s, color on the cheek was not referred to as blush but as rouge?

Lipgloss is used primarily to give lips a shiny touch and sometimes subtle color.

Did you know that the the first commercially available lip gloss was
Max Factor's X-Rated, launched in 1932?

Photo Shoot

This is a photo from a shoot we did at Sebastian headquarters in Woodland Hills, Ca. It was at this time that I was on their Trucco Artistic Team. For this shot I was going for a very dramatic look achieved by heavy eyeliner, dark thick lashes along with dark brows and deep red glossy lips.

In this photo also from the same shoot we're using the same model, but the concept behind this shot was to demo a "smokey eye" look. Since the eyes are so dramatic and I wanted to keep the focus there, I deliberately kept the lips a more nude/bare balancing them with some GLOSS.

Bridal Make Up

Over the years I have had the pleasure of providing makeup services for a number of brides and members of their wedding party, and I have been fortunate to have enjoyed every moment! For this bride, her eyes were further enhanced with the addition of a few lashes that I placed soley at the corners. Her naturally full lips were enhanced with a neutral berry shade, and finished off, of course with rouge and gloss!
